Description
This is a message to all who are thinking of climbing this mountain - anywhere else you look on the internet you will be told that the path levels out. It does not level out. It is five miles of steps, most of which came up to my knees because I’m fairly short. Oh and when you start thinking you’re nearly at the top, you’re not. And if someone tells there’s only about half an hour to the top, they mean two hours. And always remember that as far as you go you'll always have to go back. Going back down was the worst part - it was very literally like descending through the seven circles of Hell. But don’t worry, there’s a pub waiting for you with a well-deserved pint (if you use the tourist path that is). I’ll give it this too - when the clouds aren’t surrounding you the view takes away what little breath you had left in your lungs, and it’s a great chance to see snow in the middle of spring.
